CineLife Entertainment to Present ‘Carmen on the Lake’

By Logan Martell

CineLife Entertainment, in collaboration with CinemaLive and C Major Entertainment, have announced that they will present a filmed version of Bizet’s “Carmen” recorded on the floating stage of Lake Constance in Bregenz, Austria.

Titled “Carmen on the Lake,” the production will feature a 7,000 seat, open-air amphitheater and will incorporate the lake itself as an extension of the stage. The set is designed by British artist Es Devlin, who has made sets for artists such as Adele, U2, Take That, and Kanye West.

“At CineLife and Spotlight, we’re dedicated to providing our audiences with experiences that are captivating and tangible” said Bernadette McCabe, Executive Vice President, CineLife Entertainment. “Carmen on the Lake provides viewers with an extraordinary musical and visual experience, with the lake and physical stage itself serving as a vehicle to tell the story along with the incredible talent of the performers.”

“Carmen on the Lake” will be presented in movie theaters across North America starting on June 5, 2021. Health guidelines in these venues will follow CinemaSafe, a program of protocols developed and supported by leading epidemiologists to help facilitate a safe return of audiences into movie theaters.
