Cincinnati Opera and the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music will present a workshop for Sarah Kirkland Snider’s “Hildegard” on Oct. 10, 2024.
“Hildegard” was commissioned and produced by Beth Morrison Projects and “imagines three of the most pivotal events in the life of 12th-century German Benedictine nun, visionary, composer, and polymath Hildegard von Bingen.”
The workshop is presented through Opera Fusion: New Works, a program co-directed by Evan Mirageas, Artistic Director of Cincinnati Opera, and Robin Guarino, a professor of opera at University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. The event will allow Snider an opportunity to further develop the work alongside director Elkhanah Pulitzer, dramaturg Annie Wang, and a cast of vocal artists including Kiera Duffy as Hildegard.
The free workshop kicks off at 7:30 p.m. at Cincinnati Music Hall’s Wilks Studio.
