Cincinnati Opera Partners With Public Radio Station to Broadcast 2022 Festival

Cincinnati Opera is set to partner with 90.9 WGUC to broadcast performances from the 2022 summer festival.

The public radio station will broadcast four works, including “La Bohème,” “Pirates of Penzance,” the world premiere of “Fierce,” and “Aida.”

Audiences will be able to hear the performances live on 90.9 FM or online at the radio station’s official website.

“La Bohème,” which stars Talise Trevigne, Raven McMillon, Ji-Min Park, Rodion Pogossov, Ethan Vincent, André Courville, and Thomas Dreeze, will air on Nov. 6, 2022. The opera opened on June 18, 2022.

“Pirates,” featuring Patrick Carfizzi, Zachary James, David Walton, Lauren Snouffer, Amber Wagner, Samuel Smith, Mark Diamond, Marlen Nahhas, Jasmin White, and Christina Hazen, will hit the radio waves on Nov. 13, 2022; the work was first presented on July 6, 2022.

“Fierce” will get a broadcast on Nov. 20, 2022 with a cast starring Megan Graves, Victoria Ellington, Alicia Russell Tagert, Lauren McAllister, Wendy Hill, Indra Thomas, M. Andrew Jones, and Antonio Cruz. Original performances started on July 6, 2022.

“Aida” will be broadcast on Nov. 27, 2022. The cast includes Mary Elizabeth Williams, Tichina Vaughn, Gregory Kunde, Gordon Hawkins, Morris Robinson, Jennifer Cherest, Peixin Chen, and Houston Tyrrell. Performances date from July 22, 2022.
