The Washington National Opera is set to present a staged presentation of Richard Wagner’s music featuring some of today’s leading Wagner singers.

The concert scheduled for Oct. 26 will feature Christine Goerke, Brandon Jovanovich, Derek Welton, and Soloman Howard.

“Gods & Mortals: A Celebration of Wagner” will be conducted by WNO Music Director Designate Robert Spano and directed by WNO Artistic Director Francesca Zambello.

The program will include selections from “Rienzi,” “The Flying Dutchman,” “Die Walküre,” “Lohengrin,” “Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg,” and “The Ring of the Nibelung.”

The program will also include “Norma il predisse, o Druidi,” an interpolated aria Wagner wrote for his favorite opera Bellini’s “Norma” when he conducted it in 1837.
