Christine Goerke Announces New Position at Boston Lyric Opera

Christine Goerke has joined the board of the Boston Lyric Opera.

The soprano announced the news via social media and said, “I am VERY proud to have been voted in as a new member of the Board of Directors for Boston Lyric Opera, and I can’t wait to work with my fellow directors on the Philanthropy Committee! Huge gratitude to General Director & CEO Brad Vernatter and Artistic Director Nina Yoshida Nelsen. Can’t wait to work with you to make the magic happen!”

Goerke will join a board led by Board Chair Alicia Cooney and Board President Wayne Davis.

The soprano recently served as Associate Artistic Director at the Detroit Opera, a position she held since 2021. This season she performed with the Washington National Opera, Boston Symphony, Minnesota Orchetsra, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and New World Symphony, among others.
