The Semperoper Dresden has announced a cast change for its upcoming performance of “Fidelio.”

The company announced that on Oct. 12, 2018, Christiane Libor will perform the role of Leonora instead of Elisabeth Teige.

Libor is a German soprano known for performing Wagner and dramatic soprano roles. This season she is slated to perform at the Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg, Oper Leipzig in a new production of “Der Fliegende Hollander,” and at the Oper Frankfurt under the baton of Sebastian Weigle in “Die Walküre.”

Teige is slated to return to Mannheim for “Fidelio,” The Ring Cycle, and “Tosca.”

“Fidelio” is slated to also star Daniel Kirch, Georg Zeppenfeld, and Markus Marquardt. Jonathan Darlington conducts the production.
