Christian Van Horn, Adela Zaharia & Nicole Car Headline Opéra National de Paris’ ‘Don Giovanni’

Opéra National de Paris has announced an upcoming production of Mozart and Da Ponte’s “Don Giovanni.” The opera opens on Feb. 1, and runs through March 11, 2022, for a total of 13 performances.

The famed work will be headlined by Christian Van Horn in the title role. Joining him will be Adela Zaharia as Donna Anna, Nicole Car in the role of Donna Elvira, Krzysztof Bączyk as Leporello, Alexander Tsymbalyuk in the role of Il Commendatore, Pavel Petrov as Don Ottavio, Mikhail Timoshenko as Masetto, and Anna El-Khashem as Zerlina.

Bertrand de Billy conducts a production by Ivo van Hove, with set and lighting designs by Jan Versweyveld. An D’Huys is responsible for costumes. The opera is a co-production with the Metropolitan Opera in New York.

The Opéra National de Paris is currently finishing runs of Handel’s “Alcina” and Puccini’s “Turandot.”
