Christian Gerhaher Headlines Oper Frankfurt Stream of ‘Die Fledermaus’ on New Year Eve

Oper Frankfurt has announced that it will ring in the New Year by streaming a 2010-11 production of Johann Strauss’ operetta “Die Fledermaus.”

The operetta features Christian Gerhaher in the role of Gabriel von Eisenstein, alongside Barbara Zechmeister as Rosalinde, Thorsten Grümbel as Frank, Martin Wölfel in the roles of Prinz Orlofsky / Frosch, Stephan Rügamer as Alfred, Michael Nagy as Dr. Falke, Hans-Jürgen Lazar as Dr. Blind, Britta Stallmeister in the role of Adele, and Andrea M. Dewell as Ida.

Sebastian Weigle conducted the production by Christof Loy. Herbert Murauer provided set and costume design while Thomas Wilhelm was the choreographer. Olaf Winter worked as Lighting Designer on the production.

The stream will begin on Dec. 31 at 7:30 p.m. CET, and will be available for free on the company’s official website until at least Jan. 10, 2021.
