
Chicago Federation of Musicians Kicks off ‘Pop Up’ Concert Series
By David SalazarStarting on August 21, musicians from the Chicago Federation of Musicians will commence “Music Helping All Recover Together (M-HART).”
The program, which was created by the Chicago musicians union to present music to the larger Chicago community, will feature performances throughout the Chicago Metro area in an effort to lift the spirits of its audience in these challenging times.
The first event will take place at the 25th District Chicago Police Department. There will be community food and school supplies giveaways to accompany the free performance, which will feature Fernando Jones’ Blues Trio, The Markus Rutz Quartet, and Jose Valdes’ Latin Jazztet.
Per a press release, there will be 15 more “pop up” concerts throughout August ad September all over Chicago and other suburban communities in Evanston, Riverside, Berwyn, and Bartlett, among others.
