Chicago a cappella has released the details of its 2024-25 season.

This article only includes concerts featuring classical vocal music. Each concert will tour four local tour with stops in Chicago, Evanston, Oak Park, and Naperville.

The ensemble starts the season with a collaboration with Ballet 5:8 to present Thomas Tallis’ “Lamentations of Jeremiah.”

Performance Dates: September 27 & 29, October 5 & 6, 2024

Dylan Thomas’ work, “A Child’s Christmas in Wales” is performed at the holiday concert series. Chicago a cappella is joined by guest actor Greg Vinkler.

“Holidays a cappella is really about the warmth, nostalgia, and joy of the season,” noted John William Trotter, Artistic Director of Chicago a cappella, in a press release relating to the concert. “It’s a program that blends tradition and surprise—from the timeless beauty of ‘Lo, How a Rose E’er Blooming’ to the soulful harmonies of ‘My Lord Has Come’ and the energy of ‘Get Down to Bethlehem.’ Actor Greg Vinkler’s narration of A Child’s Christmas in Wales adds an extra layer of magic to the evening, much like a grandparent sharing cherished tales by the fireside. It’s this mix of music and storytelling that adds a special kind of charm to the evening, reminding us all of what makes Christmas so meaningful.”

Performance Dates: December 6, 8, 13 & 14, 2024
