On. Oct. 18 the Teatro dell’opera di Roma will stage the company premiere of Mozart’s “Zaide.”

The new production will be directed by Graham Vick and conducted by the company’s music director Daniele Gatti. The cast will be headed by Remo Girone, who will narrate the production, and Chen Reiss, who will sing the title role of Zaide. Paul Nilon, Juan Francisco Gatell, Markus Werba, and Davide Giangregorio round out the starry international cast.

The production will be a collaboration with Circuito Lirico Lombardo (Teatro Sociale di Como/Aslico, Teatro Ponchielli di Cremona, Teatro Fraschini di Pavia e Teatro Grande di Brescia) and will showcase costume and set design by Italo Grassi and lighting design by Giuseppe Di Iorio .

“Zaide” will be performed seven times including an anteprima.
