Chelsi Om’Niro to Present Recital in New York

Classically trained, jazz-loving soprano Chelsi Om’Niro is set to present a concert on March 10 ranging from classic arrangements of Negro Spirituals to Art Songs by Daura Burleigh.

The evening will be held at the St. Mark’s Church and pianist Jeannine Otis will accompany.

Om’Niro studied at Prairie View Arts & Music University and trained at the Meadows School at Southern Methodist University. She has performed such works as Mozart’s “Die Zauberflöte,” Puccini’s “Suor Angelica,” Bess in “Porgy & Bess,” and many more. She also appeared in the world premiere of the opera “Wading Home” by Mary Alice Rich.

General admission is free and the concert will be streamed live.
