Chelsea Opera Group is set to present Anton Rubinstein’s increasingly popular “The Demon’ in a concert performance under the musical direction of Oliver Zeffman. The performance is set to take place on June 30, 2019 at the Queen Elizabeth Hall, South Bank Centre.

The performance will feature baritone Andrei Kymach in the title role with Angela Simkin as The Angel. Anush Hovhannisyan will take on the character of Tamara, while bass Barnaby Rea will be Prince Gudal. Giorgi Sturua will be Prince Sinodal and Graeme Broadben will interpret the Old Servant.

The performance will also feature the Chelsea Opera Group Orchestra and Chorus.

This Chelsea Opera Group was founded in 1950 when clarinetist Colin Davis put together a performance of “Don Giovanni” at the Holywell Music Room, Oxford. The company has championed such noted conductors and artists as Sir Simon Rattle, Sir Mark Elder, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Sir Willard Wite, and Sir John Tomlinson early on in their careers.
