Chelsea Opera Group Announces New Artistic Director

Gianluca Marcianò ⁦⁦has been named artistic director of the Chelsea Opera Group.

Marcianò conducted at the Croatian National Opera and is the Artistic Director of the Al Bustan Festival in Beirut. He is also the founder and Artistic Director of the Festival Suoni dal Golfo in Lerici, and the Principal Guest Conductor of the National Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus.

From 2017-19, he was Principal Conductor of the Serbian National Theatre and from 2011-14 he held the position of Musical Director/Principal Conductor of the Tbilisi State Opera.

This past season he conducted at the Grange Park Opera, Aalto-Theater Essen, and SNG Opera Ljubljana. He also conducted at the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus, Minsk, and Ópera de Oviedo.

The Chelsea Opera Group recently performed “Roberto Devereux” as well as “Un Giorno di Regno,” “The Demon,” and Mefistofele.”
