Chanticleer to Present ‘Labyrinths’

By David Salazar

Chanticleer is set to present “Labyrinths” on July 22 at St. Mary’s Abbey in Morristown, NJ.

The event, which is being presented by Music in the Somerset Hills, will feature music by such composers as Josquin des Prez, Joni Mitchell, Caroline Shaw, George Walker, and Trevor Weston, among others. The company will also present commissions by Stephen Paulus and Zhou Tian.

“‘Labyrinths’ is about the twists and turns we take in our lives – some expected, some unexpected,” said Chanticleer Music Director Tim Keeler in an official press statement. “Everybody’s labyrinth is different, and this program offers us a chance to explore those unique trajectories across cultures and time.”

The performance is set to kick off at 7 p.m. local time.

Founded in 1978 in San Francisco, Chanticleer has been hailed as “the world’s reigning male chorus” by The New Yorker.
