By Francisco Salazar

On Sept. 24, Musicians from the Central City Opera, Denver Young Artists Orchestra, and the Performing Arts Academy will unite for “Mile High Collaborative: Fountain of Youth” at the Boettcher Concert Hall.

In a statement, Music Director Wilbur Lin said, “The voice is the oldest, purist, and most intimate form of music making. By joining the forces between aspiring instrumentalists and vocal artists, we not only aim to make the connection and build relationships between young talents, we also build the bridge between us and our collective musical past.”

The first half of the program will feature Jennifer Higdon’s “Cold Mountain” Suite and Respighi’s “Fountains of Rome.” In the second half, audiences will hear operatic and Broadway favorites from Bernstein to Puccini.

Performing artists include Christie Conover, Kim Stanish, Eric Botto, Chelsea Grace, Armando Contreras, Logan Contreras, Daniel McDonnall, Michael Leyte-Vidal, and Oliver Poveda.

Central City Opera and DYAO have also partnered with the Performing Arts Academy to provide the chorus for this concert event. The chorus will feature students from various local high schools.
