Central City Opera to Close Festival Season with New Musical Revue

By Logan Martell

As their 2018 Festival season draws to a close, Central City Opera has announced a run of performances certain to end things with a bang.

“Encore: A Musical Revue,” running August 8, 9, and 11, 2018, will offer audiences in the Colorado region a night of musical theatre, with old and new selections from Broadway and Off-Broadway’s most celebrated names.

Pelham (Pat) Pearce Jr, General and Artistic Director of Central City Opera, says: “Encore: A Musical Revue is a perfect way to close out the 2018 opera season and honor Central City Opera’s commitment to presenting the best of American musical theatre along with our world-class opera productions. Patrons of all ages will recognize the brilliant melodies that will be featured in the charm of Central City’s unique opera house.”

The show is conceived by Curt Olds, a principal artist with Central City Opera and former apprentice. He will be joined by Will Liverman, Jennifer DeDominici, and seven artists from the 2018 Bonfils-Stanton Foundation Artists Training Program. They will perform selections from “West Side Story,” “Oklahoma!,” “The Sound of Music,” and more.
