By David Salazar

Central City Opera has announced a major transition to its senior leadership.

The organization revealed that Pelham “Pat” Pearce will take on the role of Artistic Director and Senior Vice President while the company commences its search for a CEO.

Pearce currently serves as the company’s General / Artistic Director but will shift his responsibilities to focus specifically on the artistic side of Central City Opera. In the new role, Pearce will be at the head of preparation for the summer festival and will also manage the Education department and other programming for the company.

“I am extremely proud of the work we have created at Central City Opera during my 25-year tenure,” said Pearce in an official press statement. “I look forward to working with the new CEO to continue the work of bringing great opera and music to our audiences.”

Meanwhile, the new CEO will serve as the company’s managing director, chief administrator, and community ambassador. Pearce will continue in the position of General / Artistic Director until the new CEO position is filled.
