Central City Opera Announces 4th Annual Central City Plein Air Festival

The Central City Opera in Colorado has announced that 20 Plein Air Artists will be painting the scenery around the Opera House at 124 Eureka Street in Central City throughout the Sept. 24 weekend.

The Plein Air Festival will showcase historic tours, a kid-friendly crafts table, outdoor music performances, and art around every corner.

The festival begins with the Festival Kick-off Party at the newly opened Monarch Casino Resort Spa. It will feature Plein Air participating artists for hors d’oeuvres, drinks, and a very special painting demonstration by watercolorist David Pyle.

Event Date: Sept. 24, 2021

There will be an all-access tour of the Central City’s historic buildings including the Central City Opera House, Teller House, and other properties not currently open to the public.

Kidzone Drop-in arts station will showcase interactive arts activities for the whole family.

There will be two Quick Draw competitions.

The Bacony Concert will feature Central City Opera main stage singers, from the iconic Opera House Balcony and Gardens.

The all-access Tour will allow visitors to go to Central City’s historic buildings including the Central City Opera House, and Teller House.

The Preview Party and Sale will allow visitors the first to view and shop for works painted throughout the weekend.
