Center for Contemporary Opera Adds Kenneth Overton to Board

The Center for Contemporary Opera has announced the appointment of Kenneth Overton to its Board.

Overton is Grammy Award-winner who has performed with such companies as the Met Opera, Opéra de Montréal, Palacio Bellas Artes, New York City Opera, Opera Memphis, Nashville Opera, Utah Festival Opera, Opera Carolina, Toledo Opera, Opera Idaho, Opera Grand Rapids, San Francisco Opera, Deutsche Oper Berlin, and the Royal Danish Opera, among many others.

He is also one of the major collaborators behind “Black Opera,” a documentary highlighting some of the major Black trailblazers in the opera world.

“Kenneth’s expertise will make him a great asset to the Center to pursue its mission to make contemporary opera part of the post-pandemic renaissance of music,” the Center for Contemporary Opera posted on its official Twitter account.
