Centaurus Artes Productions To Present Opera Inspired In Spain

On Oc. 2, 2019 Centaurus Artes productions will showcase Opera Inspired in Spain.

The classical recital will feature internationally renowned artists from La Scala, Teatro Real de Madrid, and Teatro Colón de Buenos Aires, in an evening of opera scenes by Gaetano Donizetti, Guiseppe Verdi, and the Brazilian Verismo era composer, Antônio Carlos Gomes. The concert will include selections from “L’Elisir d’amore,” “La Favorita,” “Dom Sebastiano,” “Il Duca d’Alba,” “Don Carlo,” “Salvator Rosa,” and “Ernani.”

Among the performers will soprano Olga Bakali, mezzo-soprano Anna Tonna, tenor Miguel Borrallo, baritone Gustavo Ahualli, bass Luiz-Ottavio Faria and pianist Lucy Arner.

There will be a pre-Concert lecture with Simon Saad, who will speak about the works and their connection to Spain.

The concert is set to take place at the Church of the Transfiguration on East 29th Street in New York at 7:30 p.m.
