Cecilia Violetta López, Bernardo Bermudez, Eleni Calenos, Marnie Breckenridge Headline Opera Orlando’s ‘All for Art’ 2023-24 Season
By David SalazarOpera Orlando announced its 2023-24 season, entitled “All for Art.”
The season opens with “Tosca” starring Eleni Calenos, Nathan Granner, and Daniel Scofield. Josh Shaw directs and Eiki Isomura conducts.
Performance Dates: Oct. 27 & 29, 2023
The season features “Frida” in a production by John de los Santos conducted by Jorge Parodi. The opera stars Cecilia Violetta López and Bernardo Bermudez.
Performance Dates: Jan. 26 & 28, 2024
The season ends with “Lucia di Lammermoor” in a production by Grant Preisser conducted by Robert Wood. The opera stars Gabriel Preisser, Marnie Breckenridge, Zaikuan Song, and Ben Gulley.
Performance Dates: April 19 & 21, 2024
The company will also showcase “The Juniper Tree” by Philip Glass and Robert Moran with a libretto by Arthur Yorinks. The opera will be directed by John DiDonna and will be conducted by Geoffrey Loff.
Performance Dates: May 10 & 11, 2024
Other Events
The company will also feature a Summer Concert series featuring such artists as Marnie Breckenridge, Isaac Hurtado, and Sarah Tucker.
Performance Dates: August 13 – 27, 2023
It will also present a site-specific production of “Rusalka” as part of its “Opera on the Town” series.
