Cecilia Bartoli to Make Wiener Staatsoper Debut With Rossini Mania Series Alongside Opéra de Monte-Carlo & Les Musiciens du Prince-Monaco

The Opéra de Monte-Carlo and Les Musiciens du Prince-Monaco are set to appear at the Vienna State Opera as part of the Festival Rossini Mania.

Particularly notable about this performance series will be the Vienna State Opera debut of opera star Cecilia Bartoli.

“When Bogdan Roščić asked me if I would be interested in accepting a kind of carte blanche at the State Opera in 2022, I immediately connected this honourable invitation with the ‘Rossini fever’ that overtook Vienna in 1822 – and the idea was born to commemorate a little of this musical landslide that swept Vienna when Rossini arrived in this city and presented his best works. I am all the more delighted to be able to recall this musical event again together with my wonderful colleagues. I can’t wait to come to Vienna with Rossini,” Bartoli said in an official press statement.

The company will feature in present “La Cenerentola” conducted by Gianluca Capuano with a cast starring Nicola Alaimo, Edgardo Rocha, Pietro Spagnoli, Rebeca Olvera, Rose Bove, Cecilia Bartoli, and José Coca Loza.

Performance Date: June 28, 2022

Next up will be “Il Turco in Italia” which will star Ildebrando d’Arcangelo, Cecilia Bartoli, Nicola Alaimo, Barry Banks, José Maria Lo Monaco, David Astorga, and Giovanni Romeo. Jean-Louis Grinda directs with Gianluca Capuano conducts.

Performance Dates: July 3 – 7, 2022

The series of performances concludes with a Gala in benefit of AMADE which will star Cecilia Bartoli, Levy Sekgapane, Nicola Alaimo, Varduhi Abrahamyan, Ildebrando D’Arcangelo, Rosa Bove, Rolando Villazón, Plácido Domingo, and Edgardo Rocha.
