CD / DVD Releases – Week of March 26: Elena Mosuc & Constance Heller Release New Albums

Two solo recitals make waves this week from two extraordinary singers. One album tackles rare repertoire including never before recorded works while the other one features an artist tackling new repertoire.

Sommer: Mignons Sehnen

Mezzo-soprano Constance Heller and pianist Gerold Huber bring together lieder by Hans Sommer. The new CD has a total of five sets of Lieder including a number of world premiere recordings. Solo Musica and Sony music joined forces for this new release.

Verdi Heroines 

Elena Mosuc joins forces with the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor Paulo Ferreira for Verdi arias. The soprano, known for her interpretations in the Bel Canto repertoire, takes on arias from some of Verdi’s most challenging operas. In the new solo album, Mosuc sings from “Il Trovatore,” “I Vespri Sicilianni,” “La Traviata,” and “the Requiem.  Solo Musica releases the new album.
