One hundred and fifty years after its composition, a lost opera is recovered and a vanished voice restored. Pauline García Viardot’s lost work gets a world premiere recording starring Jamie Barton, Eric Owens, Camille Zamora, and Adriana Zabala. Trudie Styler narrates.

Vireo: The Spiritual Biography of a Witch’s Accuser.

Composed and conceived by Lisa Bielawa on a libretto by Erik Ehn and directed by Charles Otte, “Vireo” is set to be released on a double package on DVD and CD, released by Orange Mountain Music. The series is an opera in 12 episodes, created for television and online viewing. It was first broadcast on KCET’s Emmy award-winning arts and culture series Artbound in June 2017. Both Bielawa and Otte were nominated for 2018 Los Angeles Area Emmys, and the opera won the 2015 ASCAP Foundation Deems Taylor/Virgil Thomson Multimedia Award.
