CD / DVD Releases – Week of Feb. 12: Daniela Dessi & Gideon Kremer Featured In New Releases

Maria de Buenos Aires
Warner Classics is remastering Astor Piazzolla’s Tango Opera and releasing it for the first time since its original release back in the 90s. The work stars Gideon Kremer performing the solo violin part and Julia Zenko and Jairo. The remastering is coming out through Warner’s Original Jacket series.
Fedora
Dynamic is releasing “Fedora” at the Teatro Carlo Felice. Giordano’s rarely performed work stars the late Daniela Dessi with her husband Fabio Armiliato in a production by Rosetta Cucchi and conducted by Valerio Galli. A CD version is also slated to be released.
Flavio Ferri-Benedetti’s Solo album
Alto Ferri-Benedetti dedicates an album to Giacomelli’s rarely performed opera arias. The album entitled Fiamma Vorace features Musica Fiorita and Daniela Dolci conducting. Pan Classics releases the album.
