Cavarzere Opera Festival Announces First Annual Program

Andrea Castello has formed the Cavarzere Opera Festival in Rottanova di Cavarzere, Italy.

The festival which began on Sept. 26 showcased “Le Grazie vendicate” by Antonio Caldara with a cast that includes Maddalena De Biasi, Barbara Massaro, Claudia Urru, and the ensemble Arbor Musica.

The festival will also include a concert on Oct. 17 titled “Vissi d’arte” with soprano Silvia Caliò and Chiara Fiorani. The program will feature some of the most popular arias in opera.

On Oct. 24, the festival will showcase Scarlatti’s “Stabat Mater” with the ensemble Arbor Musica. Soloists include soprano Costanza Cutaia and contralto Antonia Salzano. The concert will be performed at the Teatro Tullio Serafin

The final performance of the festival will be Vivaldi’s “Four Seasons” in an evening dedicated to Tullio Serafin.
