Opéra de Montréal has announced a unique concert experience on Nov. 21, 2021.

The showcase will bring together the company’s Atelier lyrique, mezzo-soprano  Catherine Daniel, and tenor Éric Laporte under the musical direction of Jacques Lacombes. Among the members of the Atelier lyrique are Marc-Antoine Brûlé, Vanessa Croome, Sarah Dufresne, Mishael Eusebio, Sydney Frodsham, Kirsten LeBlanc, Matthew Li, Martina Myskohlid, Geoffrey Schellenberg, and Lucie St-Martin.

The showcase will feature music from such operas as “Carmen,” “Don Carlo,” “The Barber of Seville,” “Cendrillon,” and “Der Rosenkavalier.”

“As an artist’s residency with a mission to motivate young singers to reach their full potential, it was only natural to offer a third year of residency to those whose experience was impacted by the pandemic,” said Lambert, Director of the Atelier lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal, in a press statement. “This concert will therefore involve a varied and highly talented cohort, and I know they are very keen to share the stage with Catherine Daniel and Éric Laporte, who have established international careers.”
