Cathedral of St. John the Divine Announces Star-Studded Holiday Concerts

The Cathedral of St. John the Divine will celebrate the Christmas season with two concerts on December 9 and 10.

The showcases, which will be conducted by Kent Tritle, Director of Music for The Cathedral and Bryan Zaros, Associate Director of Music and Choirmaster, will feature  Vivaldi’s “Magnificat,:  Yshani Perinpanayagam’s “In Bethlehem above,”and Sheena Philips’ “The Christmas Bird.”

Additionally, the Cathedral Choristers will perform Christmas favorites from Caccini, Rutter, Fraser, and Britten. Also on the program is Gerald Finzi’s “In Terra Pax (Peace on Earth).”

Vocal soloists include sopranos Halley Gilbert and Eva Martínez, alto Kirsten Sollek, tenor Austin Cody,  and bass-baritone Andrew Jurden.
