Cathedral Choral Society Unveils 2024-25 Season

The Cathedral Choral Society, led by Music Director Steven Fox, has announced its 2024-25 season.

The season opens with Johannes Brahms’ “Requiem,” with soloists mezzo soprano Katerina Burton and baritone Trevor Scheunemann.

Performance Date: October 20, 2024

The Cathedral Choral Society continues its holiday tradition with “Joy of Christmas.”

Performance Date: December 14 & 15, 2024

The Society hosts the High School Choir Festival. Local high school choirs are set to participate in rehearsals and vocal workshops, and take the stage to perform under the baton of the High School Choir Festival’s esteemed clinician.

Performance Date: January 29, 2025

The Washington, D.C. premiere of Ethel Smyth’s “Mass in D.” Also featured on this program is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Meistermusik,” K. 477.

Performance Date: March 16, 2025

The season concludes with a performance alongside the GRAMMY Award-winning, San Francisco-based vocal ensemble, Chanticleer. Together, the ensembles will perform Aaron Copland’s “In The Beginning,” Ildebrando Pizzetti’s “Requiem,” and additional repertoire to be announced.
