Caterina Rossini Set to Launch Mostly Classical Epicenter for the Performing Arts – Dallas This Winter

By David Salazar

The Mostly Classical Epicenter for the Performing Arts – Dallas is set to launch this winter with an inaugural / fundraising gala night at Moody Performance Hall on Dec. 20, 2025.

The project by mezzo-soprano Caterina Rossini aims to “preserve and spread the ancient school of Italian classical singing and its noblest characteristics, such as the messa di voce, the portamento, the homogeneity of the registers, the legato and the phrasing.” In creating the program, Rossini, who has performed at the Rome Opera and Metropolitan Opera, combined Standardized European ConservatoryProgram for Piano, Voice, and Choral Music with the international ABRSM Program and the Texas Student Affiliate programs for aural, theory, and musicianship, to create a new approach.

“The inspiration comes from within. Meaning that the training I’ve gone through over the decades in the various classical art forms have all been merging in my head lately. I feel them trying to come together in a defined way,” Rossini told OperaWire. “What I hope to achieve is just that. A place for all the various artistic personalities I’ve had the pleasure to do art with to come together and offer a high quality training environment for the next generations of performers.”

Per an official press release, the Academy will feature numerous guests, including soprano Barbara Frittoli, conductor Gregory Buchalter, accompanist Steven V. Mitchell, and vocal coach and conductor Jeffrey Goldberg, among others.
