Cast Change: Teatro Regio di Parma Announces New ‘Otello’

The Teatro Regio di Parma has announced a cast change for its Oct. 5 performance of “Otello.”

The company said that Yusif Eyvazov will sing the title role replacing Fabio Sartori, who is ill.

Eyvazov is known for his interpretation having sung it at the Ravenna Festival, Teatro Massimo di Palermo and the Mariinsky Theatre.

The tenor is known for singing at some of the great theaters in the world including the Royal Opera House, Teatro alla Scala, Bayerische Staatsoper, and Metropolitan Opera.

He is set to join a cast that includes Ariunbaatar Ganbaatar and Mariangela Sicilia.

Roberto Abbado conducts the production by Federico Tiezzi. Sartori returns to the production on Oct. 11, 2025.

”Otello” runs through  Oct. 19.
