The Metropolitan Opera has announced that Susanna Phillips will join the cast of “La Boheme” on Dec. 12, 2025.

The soprano will take over the role of Mimì for Juliana Grigoryan.

In a statement to social media, Phillip said, “I’m absolutely thrilled to announce that I’ll be returning to the role of Mimì! I’ll be stepping back onto the Met Opera stage for the December 12 performance! It’s an honor to join incredible colleagues and revisit this beautiful character I had the privilege of debuting at the Met in 2023. Looking forward to sharing this experience with you all.”

Phillips has performed the role of Mimì and Musetta at the Met for many years, taking on Musetta at the famed theater on 55 occasions. She has five Mimì performances at the Met.

Phillips is set to join a cast that includes Mané Galoyan, Stephen Costello, David Bizic, Iurii Samoilov, and Alexander Köpeczi. Daniele Rustioni conducts.
