
Cast Change: Sandra Laagus Joins Berlin State Opera’s ‘Les Contes d’Hoffmann’
By Francisco SalazarThe Staatsoper Berlin has announced a cast change for its production of “Les Contes d’Hoffmann.”
The company said that Sandra Laagus will sing the role of Giuletta.
In a statement the soprano took to social media and said, “My heart is so full as I share I’ll be singing the role of Giulietta in Lydia Steier’s iconic production of Les Contes d’Hoffmann this spring at @staatsoperberlin! This truly is a dream come true and I can’t wait to bring this seductive and dangerous world to life.”
Since 2024, Laagus is a member of the Berlin State Opera’s International Opera Studio. She has performed with the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra, Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, Vanemuine Symphony Orchestra, and Drottningholm Palace Theatre.
Laagus will join a cast that includes Benjamin Bernheim, Regina Koncz, Siobhan Stagg, Alex Esposito, and Samantha Hankey.
