Cast Change: Rosalia Cid to Make Staatsoper Berlin Debut in ‘Falstaff’

The Staatsoper Berlin has announced a cast change for its upcoming “Falstaff.”

The company revealed that soprano Rosalia Cid would sing the role of Nanetta, taking over for Slavka Zamecnikova. This will mark Cid’s Staatsoper Berlin debut.

Cid, a former member of the Young Artist Program at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, joined the Ensemble of the Semperoper Dresden in the 2024–25 season. This season at the Semperoper, she is set to perform in “Parsifal,” “Il capello di paglia di Firenze,” “Dialogues des Carmélites,” and “Falstaff.”

She joins a cast that includes Michael Volle, André Schuen, Jonah Hoskins, Jürgen Sacher, Karl-Michael Ebner, Friedrich Hamel, Gabriela Scherer, Anna Kissjudit, and Rebecka Wallroth. Giuseppe Mentuccia leads the Mario Martone production.

“Falstaff” opens on Nov. 20, 2025, and runs through Dec. 7, 2025.
