
Cast Change Incoming for Metropolitan Opera’s ‘Aida’
By Francisco SalazarBrian Jagde has canceled his March 22 performance of Verdi’s “Aida.”
The tenor said, “I’m sad to share that I have to cancel my performance in Aida today Met Opera. I’m unfortunately unwell and need time to recover. Thank you to the Met staff for their support and IBAL to the whole Aida team for a great third show, wish I could be performing with you. See you all soon.”
The Met announced that Alejandro Roy would sing the role of Radames making his Met debut.
“Aida” is conducted by Alexander Soddy and stars Christina Nilsson, Judit Kutasi, Roman Burdenko, Alexander Vinogradov, and Krzysztof Bączyk. The new production is by Michael Mayer.
Jagde returns to the production on March 26, 2025.
