Cast Change: Freddie de Tommaso to Replace Jonathan Tetelman in ‘Tosca’ at Festival Ljubljana
By Francisco SalazarThe Festival Ljubljana has announced a cast change for “Tosca” on Sept. 3, 2025.
The festival said, “due to illness, Jonathan Tetelman will unfortunately not be able to perform in tonight’s ‘Tosca.’ The role of Cavaradossi will be performed by the outstanding tenor Freddie De Tommaso. We are delighted to welcome such an acclaimed artist to Ljubljana, and we wish Jonathan Tetelman a swift recovery.”
De Tommaso is currently rehearsing a new production of “Tosca” at the Royal Opera House and has performed the role at the Wiener Staatsoper, Metropolitan Opera, and Berlin State Opera.
He is set to join a cast that includes Sondra Radvanovsky and Sir Bryn Terfel. Modestas Pitrėnas conducts the Simfonični orkester SNG Maribor and Zbor Opere SNG Maribor.
