
Cast Change: Brian Jagde Brings ‘Otello’ to Parma
By Francisco SalazarThe Teatro Regio di Parma has announced a cast change for its Oct. 11 performance of “Otello.”
The company said that Brian Jagde will sing the title role, replacing Fabio Sartori, who is ill.
Jagde recently made his role debut at the Teatro Real de Madrid, where critics hailed his interpretation, stating, ” Jagde gave notice that he could become a truly great Otello” and “Vocally, Jagde gave us a most impressive piece of singing.”
The tenor is known for singing at some of the great theaters in the world, including the Royal Opera House, Teatro alla Scala, Bayerische Staatsoper, and Metropolitan Opera.
He is set to join a cast that includes Ariunbaatar Ganbaatar and Mariangela Sicilia.
