Angela Brower has canceled her Feb. 28, 2020 performance of Massenet’s “Cendrillon” at the Stadttheater Klagenfurt.

The mezzo-soprano announced via social media that due to illness she would be able to perform the role. As a result, I Chiao Shih will take over the role.

Shih is an ensemble member at the Theater Ulm and has performed such roles as Octavian in “Der Rosenkavalier,” Hänsel in “Hänsel und Gretel,” Charlotte in “Werther,” Ortrud in “Lohengrin,” Klytemnestra in “Elektra,” Fenena in “Nabucco,” Erda in “Das Rheingold,” and Sesto in “La Clemenza di Tito,” among others.

Shih joins a cast that includes Agnes Zwierko, Virginie Verrez, Keri Fuge, Feride Büyükdenktas, and Marian Pop. Nicholas Carter conducts the production by David Hermann.

Brower returns for the final performance on March 31, 2020.
