Cast Change: Antonino Siragusa to Open ‘Tancredi’ at Opera di Roma
By Francisco SalazarThe Teatro dell’Opera di Roma has announced a cast change for its production of “Tancredi.”
The company said that Antonino Siragusa will sing the opening performance on May 19 replacing Enea Scala.
For his part Scala took to social media and said, It is with great regret that I must announce that I will be unable to perform at the opening night of TANCREDI on 19 May, due to persistent bronchitis which has caused me considerable difficulty, particularly during the recent intense and demanding rehearsal period. I would like to thank my colleague Antonino Siragusa, who has stepped in to take my place in this production and come to my aid. My heartfelt thanks also go to the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma for the support and assistance they have offered me at this time. If all goes well, I confirm that I will be performing on 22, 24 and 29 May 2026.”
Siragusa is set to join a cast that includes Carlo Vistoli, Luca Tittoto, Martina Russomanno, Giuliana Gianfaldoni, Ekaterine Buachidze, and Maria Elena Pepi.
Michele Mariotti conducts the production by Emma Dante.
