Cast Change Announced for Semperoper Dresden’s ‘Die Entführung aus dem Serail’

The Semperoper Dresden has announced a cast change for its “Die Entführung aus dem Serail” concert.

The company revealed that Aaron Pegram will sing the role of Pedrillo on Sept. 27, 2020, replacing Manuel Günther, who was forced to cancel.

Pegram is an ensemble member at the Semperoper Dresden and has performed at the New York City Opera, Orlando Opera, Birmingham Opera, Santa Fe Opera, Virginia Opera, Utah Opera, and Houston Grand Opera. This season Pegram will be featured in productions of “Tosca,” “Carmen,” “L’Orfeo,” “Der Rosenkavalier,” and “Madama Butterfly.”

The tenor joins a cast that includes Erdal Yildiz, Nikola Hillebrand, Katerina von Bennigsen, Matthew Newlin, and Michael Hauenstein. Alessandro De Marchi conducts the production.
