The Teatro de la Zarzuela has announced a cast change for its production of “Jugar con Fuego.”

The company said that José Miguel Pérez-Sierra will not be able to conduct the performances due to indisposition. As a result, Álvaro Albiach will take over while Lara Diloy will conduct performances on April 4, 5, and 8, 2026.

Albiach recently conducted “Goyescas” by Granados and “La vida breve” by Falla. He has conducted at the Teatro Real, Gran Teatre del Liceu, Rossini Festival in Pesaro, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Teatro Comunale di Treviso, and Teatro Campoamor of Oviedo.

He will conduct a cast that includes Ruth Iniesta, Berna Perles, Alejandro del Cerro, Antonio Gandía, José Antonio López, Luis Cansino, David Lagares, Javier Castañeda, Manuel de Diego, Emmanuel Faraldo and Javier Povedano.

“Jug con Fuego” opens on March 25 and runs through April 12, 2026.
