Mezzo-soprano Adèle Charvet is set to take on the role of Charlotte in “Werther” at the Salzburg Festival this summer.
She takes over for Marianne Crebassa who withdrew from the two concert performances for “personal reasons.”
Charvet, who made her Salzburg Festival debut in 2023 as Ascagne in the concert performance of Berlioz’s “Les Troyens,” joins a cast headlined by Benjamin Bernheim in the title role, Sandra Hamaoui as Sophie, Andrey Zhilikhovsky as Albert, Manuel Winckhler as Le Bailli, and Tomislav Jukić as Schmidt. The cast also features participants of the Young Singers Project.
Alain Altinoglu conducts the Orchestre symphonique de la Monnaie at the Großes Festspielhaus.
The performances are set to take place on July 29 and August 1, 2026.
