Cassandra Zoé Velasco Headlines ‘Heroínas de la lírica y la ópera’

Mezzosoprano Cassandra Zoé Velasco is set to perform at the Teatro del del Bicentenario in Mexico City on August 28 in a concert entitled “Heroínas de la lírica y la ópera.”

The concert will mark Velsaco’s debut at the theater where she will share the stage with Leticia de Altamirano, Silvia Duhart, and Ibeth Ortiz. Beatríz Guerrero will accompany the singers.

The performance will feature music by Bellini, Bizet, Chausson, Delibes, Mozart, Offenbach, Puccini, Rossini, and Verdi. It will also include music from Zarzuelas by Chapi, Giménez y Bellido, and Moreno Torroba as well as Mexican songs by María Grever and Consuelito Velázquez.

Velasco has performed at the Metropolitan Opera, LA Opera, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Carnegie Hal, and the Spoleto Festival.
