Carson Gilmore has announced a video series featuring aria adaptations.
The new video series features well-known operatic selections explored through a modern context. Gilmore’s company “proof-of-concept” film has already released two videos which feature Hasse’s “Morte col fiero aspetto” and Verdi’s “Sempre Libera.”
All videos were filmed with “Covid-safe” regulations.
Gilmore has worked with Pacific Opera Project as an assistant director and is also a professional operatic baritone and theatrical director. He has also performed Pinellino in Opera Santa Barbara’s “Gianni Schicchi,” Giorgio in Bellini’s “I puritani,” Dulcamara in Donizetti’s “L’elisir d’amore,” and Count Almaviva in Mozart’s “Le nozze di Figaro.”
He has also performed with California State University, Northridge, the Southern California Vedanta Society, and the Casa Italiana Opera Company.
