Carolina López Moreno & Iván Ayón-Rivas Star in Festival Granda’s ‘La Bohème’

For its 15th edition, the Festival Internacional de Ópera Alejandro Granda in Lima, Peru will present Puccini’s “La bohème.”

The cast will be headlined by the Bolivian-Albanian soprano Carolina López Moreno as Mimì and Peruvian tenor Iván Ayón-Rivas as Rodolfo. Joining them are Spanish soprano Patricia Calvache as Musetta and baritones Francesco Samuele Venuti and Giuseppe Toia as Marcello and Schaunard, respectively. Rounding out the cast is bass Alessio Cacciamani as Colline. Italian conductor Alessandro Bonato will lead the Sinfonía por el Perú Youth Orchestra, alongside the National Choir and Children’s Choir of Peru.

The tragic love story will be presented in a new production by Jean Pierre Gamarra at the Gran Teatro Nacional del Perú on April 24 – 30, 2024.

In previous seasons, the Festival Granda has presented opera superstars such as Roberto Frontali, Claudio Sgura, Daniela Barcellona, Riccardo Massi, Simón Orfila, Claudio Sgura, Alexey Lavrov, Ruggero Raimondi, Gregory Kunde, Giuseppe Filianoti, Jessica Pratt, Ivan Magrì, among others.
