Carnegie Hall+ to Present Free Outdoor Opera Screenings

Carnegie Hall+ has announced that it will present two free outdoor film screenings this August in the open air at the Public Square & Gardens at Hudson Yards in New York City.

The first screening will be at Hudson Yards featuring “Cavalleria rusticana” and “Pagliacci” from the salzburg Easter Festival. The recording  features Jonas Kaufmann  joined by the Staatskapelle Dresden, conductor Christian Thielemann, Liudmyla Monastyrska, Maria Agresta, Dimitri Platanias, Tansel Akzeybek, and Alessio Arduini.

Screening Date: August 13 at 5:00 p.m.


The second screening will be Verdi’s “Rigoletto,” filmed at Austria’s Bregenz Festival in a production by Philipp Stölzl. Vladimir Stoyanov, Mélissa Petit, and Stephen Costello performing alongside the Vienna Symphony and Prague Philharmonic Choir conducted by Enrique Mazzola.

Screening Date: August 20 at 5:00 p.m.
