Carmela Remigio, Xabier Anduaga, Ainhoa Arteta & Ramón Vargas Lead Teatro de la Maestranza’s 2020-21 Season

The Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville, Spain has announced the casting for its 2020-21 season featuring international stars.
The season opens with Mozart’s “Così fan tutte“ starring Carmela Remigio, Maite Beaumont, Simon Mechlinski, Xabier Anduaga, Natalia Labourdette, and Roberto de Candia. Iván López Reynoso conducts.
Performance Dates: Nov. 3-7, 2020
Fausto Nardi conducts Monteverdi’s “Combattimento” with Rocío Martínez, Anna Alàs i Jové, David Alegret, and Víctor Sordo.
Performance Dates: Nov 27 & 28, 2020
Raquel García-Tomás’ “Je suis narcissiste” is set to be conducted by Vinicius Kattah and directed by Marta Pazos. The cast includes Elena Copons, Toni Marsol, María Hinojosa, and Joan Ribalta.
Performance Dates: Dec. 10-12, 2020
Julia Doyle sings a concert alongside conductor Andoni Mercero.
Performance Date: Jan. 23, 2021
Ramón Vargas, Lianna Haroutounian, Gabriele Viviani, Marina Monzó, and Olesya Petrova star in Verdi’s “Un Ballo in Maschera.” Francesco Ivan Ciampa conducts.
Performance Dates: Feb. 11-20, 2021
Ismael Jordi and Mariola Cantarero sing a recital alongside Rubén Fernández Aguirre.
Performance Date: Feb. 13, 2021
García’s “Le Cinesi” will be conducted by Rubén Fernández Aguirre and directed by Bárbara Lluch.

Borja Quiza, Cristina Faus, María Miró, Javier Tomé, David Sánchez, and Abel García star in Barbieri’s “El barberillo de Lavapiés.” José Miguel Pérez-Sierra conducts.

Ainhoa Arteta and Nancy Fabiola Herrera perform arias and songs from Zarzuela with conductor Lucas Macías.

The Teatro de la Maestranza celebrates it 30th anniversary with a gala led by Juanjo Mena, Carlos Álvarez, Simón Orfila, Xabier Anduaga, José Bros, Ainhoa Arteta, Leonor Bonilla, and Rocío Ignacio.

García’s “Es lo Contrario” is set to be performed twice.

Ketevan Kemoklidze and Sandra Ferrández star in the title role of Bizet’s “Carmen“ with Sébastien Guèze and Antonio Corianò as Don Jose, María José Moreno and Raquel Lojendio as Michaela, and Simón Orfila and Jean-Kristof Bouton as Escamillo. Anu Tali conducts.
