Carmela Remigio, Roberto Frontali & Sonia Prina Lead Teatro La Fenice’s June-October Program

The Teatro La Fenice has announced programming for June 2 through Oct. 31, 2021.

The company will present five productions and six concerts featuring some of the world’s greatest artists. All events will be open to the public and will follow all rigorous COVID-19 protocols.

Gounod’s Faust will open the theater in a new production by Joan Anton Rechi. Frédéric Chaslin conducts the production with tenor Ivan Ayon Rivas in the title role, Carmela Remigio  and Alex Esposito.

Performance Dates: June 25-July 3, 2021

Vivaldi’s “Farnace” will get a new production following the successes of “Orlando furioso” and “Dorilla in Tempe.” Christophe Gayral directs the production which Diego Fasolis will conduct. Christoph Strehl, Sonia Prina and Lucia Cirillo star.

Performance Dates: July 2-10, 2021

Pier Luigi Pizzi historical production of Händel’s “Rinaldo” will return to the stage of La Fenice with Federico Maria Sardelli codncuting. The cast will include Teresa Iervolino, Francesca Aspromonte, Maria Laura Icobellis, Andrea Patucelli and Leonardo Cortellazzi.

Performance Dates: August 31-Sept. 4, 2021

Roberto Frontali sings the title role in Verdi’s “Rigoletto” with Ivan Ayon Rivas, Antonio Poli, Claudia Pavone, and Lara Lagni. Damiano Michieletto directs the production led by Daniele Callegari.

Performance Dates: Sept. 29-Oct. 10, 2021

The company will also present Albinoni’s “Engelberta” with  Francesco Erle conducting and Francesco Bellotto.

Performance Dates: Oct. 14-16, 2021

La Fenice also announced concerts with Riccardo Muti, Alexander Lonquich, Danielle Callegari, Anna Pirozzi, Piero Pretti, and Hartmut Haenchen.
