The Teatro Municipale di Piacenza has announced its 2023-24 season.
The season opens with Verdi’s “Otello” starring Gregory Kunde, Luca Micheletti, Antonio Mandrillo, and Francesca Dotto. Leonardo Sini conducts the production by Italo Nunziata.
Performance Dates: Dec. 11-17, 2023
Carmela Remigio sings the title role of Donizetti’s “Anna Bolena” alongside Arianna Vendittelli, Luigi De Donato, Ruzil Gatin, and Paola Gardina. Diego Fasolis conducts the production by Carmelo Rifici.
Performance Dates: Feb. 16 & 18, 2024
Puccini’s “Turandot” will star Leah Gordon, Giacomo Prestia, Angelo Villari, and Vittoria Yeo. Marco Guidarini conducts the production by Giuseppe Frigeni.
Performance Dates: March 22 & 24, 2024
Luca Salsi, Luciano Ganci, and Marina Rebeka will star in Verdi’s “I Due Foscari” with Matteo Beltrami conducting and Joseph Franconi Lee directing.
Performance Dates: April 30-May 5, 2024
Pier Francesco Maestrini directs Rossini’s “Mosè in Egitto” with Michele Pertusi, Dave Monaco, Mirco Palazzi, Mariam Battistelli, and Chiara Mogini. Giovanni Di Stefano conducts.
Performance Dates: Oct. 25 & 27, 2024
Carmela Remigio closes the season with Spontini’s “La Vestale.” She is joined by Oreste Cosimo, Bruno Taddia, and Christian Federici. Alessandro Benigni conducts and Gianluca Falaschi directs.
Performance Dates: Nov. 22 & 24, 2024
Gianna Fratta and Leonor Bonilla celebrate the New Year in a program that includes music by Johann Strauss II, Gioachino Rossini, Gaetano Donizetti, Giuseppe Verdi, Jules Massenet, Luigi Arditi, Gerónimo Giménez, and Manuel de Falla.

Oreste Cosimo and Federico Longhi star in Puccini’s “Messa di Gloria.” Jacopo Rivani conducts.
